WE ALL SEEK JUSTICE AND NOBODY IS OKAY
[Another murder, another investigation, another trial, another execution. Unlike last time, it wasn't self-defense, and although they caught him, she's pretty sure nobody is happy. It was sentencing someone to death, after all.
Knowing that, Dlanor writes something on the back of profiles she took from the bulletin board, passing them under the doors. When in a hurry, use what you have, and those profiles will be back sooner or later, anyway]
Please come to the train station. Let's spend some time in each other's company, for our sake
[If you decide to come, you'll find whoever wrote that note has been working hard to make things somewhat nice. There's a few...whatever we all have been using as cups all this time...filled with milk -- evaporated milk with some water, it seems. Tastes almost like normal milk. Dlanor also brought a few twigs and a small piece of log from the sawmull, and seems to be currently trying to make a fire. Some warmth should be nice, right?
Come on, everyone, let's sit around this bunch of wood and strengthten our bonds]

...so you killed one of our friends for everyone's planets?
no subject
I'm afraid so.
no subject
I'm not sure if that's an act of kindness, or an act of cowardice.

I won't ask you to forgive me. I know of the consequences I'm facing due to my actions, and I won't judge you if you hate me for what I've done.

[Just saying that makes his stomach twist into a knot.]
And murder is never okay, but you had more of a just reason than others do.

[His father...]
Actually, So- Rufus, something else happened during this trial, and I wanted to ask you something.

[That gets Rufus' interest, and he perks up a little bit.]

First question: do you recognize the man who claims to be the mayor as your father, after everything that happened last week?
no subject
[Rufus looks a little depressed when he says that, and he runs a hand through his hair.]
My memory is still extremely hazy, though I've been remembering things little by little now. Like I remember the blacksmith -- Thomas Lane. He was a big man with a long beard as orange as a poppy and a laugh that could carry over miles. But ah.. I'm getting off topic.
Why do you want to know if they're the same person? Do you believe them not to be?

Does the name Dr Peter Venkman ring a bell to you?
no subject
[Rufus echoes that, and he cups his chin in one of his hands thoughtfully.]
He.. was here a while ago. He drove up in this -- space car of some sort with a team and he told me they were investigating hauntings that had been happening to travelers who visited Pinesville.
[its the first car hes seen since the 1930s so yknow. space car]
I pretended to be a traveler myself not wanting to deal with what they might have done if they found out I was a ghost, and they left without any findings.. I think.

[Oh he should probably... explain what he means...]
During the trial today, Mae tried destroying the wallpaper, and the "Mayor" started acting strangely. He didn't recognize being called "the Mayor" and responded with "Dr Peter Venkman" when I asked who he was.
He then shouted "Venkman, Spengler, Zeddmore, Stanz", stating that "you're in danger". I'm not sure if we are the ones in danger, or if the names he was calling out were in danger.
The "Mayor"... does he at all resemble the Dr Peter Venkman you saw?
no subject
[Rufus says that thoughtfully, and he's silent at The Narrator's questioning for just a tad bit too long.]
....a-ah right, yes. Honestly, now that you mention it they do have similar faces. It's hard to tell with his skin green and his hair long like that but... they might be the same person.

... And this must mean that something else is the mastermind behind all of this, with Dr Peter Venkman's actions.

[The relief on his face is just visible right now.]
It's troubling thinking that a third party might be involved, but I'm... very glad to hear that that man isn't related to me at all.

After seeing you, I believe it's safe to say that the town hall does something to spirits, and it must have effected this Peter Venkman greatly if he is still under its affect if he leaves the town hall.
This man is probably as much of a prisoner as we are.
