[Another murder, another investigation, another trial, another execution. Unlike last time, it wasn't self-defense, and although they caught him, she's pretty sure nobody is happy. It was sentencing someone to death, after all.

Knowing that, Dlanor writes something on the back of profiles she took from the bulletin board, passing them under the doors. When in a hurry, use what you have, and those profiles will be back sooner or later, anyway]

[If you decide to come, you'll find whoever wrote that note has been working hard to make things somewhat nice. There's a few...whatever we all have been using as cups all this time...filled with milk -- evaporated milk with some water, it seems. Tastes almost like normal milk. Dlanor also brought a few twigs and a small piece of log from the sawmull, and seems to be currently trying to make a fire. Some warmth should be nice, right?

So what were you doing before I walked up to you?

Twilight picks up one of her papers to show Mae.]

Writing down what happened today. Just some thoughts about it all, really...and a few drawings, too.

Oh yeah? Got any drawings you wanna share?

[Mae left her notebook in her cabin--she couldn't draw anything that wasn't too dark and sad, so she decided to leave it be for now. But now she's curious about Twilight's art...]

[WELL IT'S...NOT GREAT...they're very much stick drawing approximations of what they're supposed to be, but in one corner there's a little pudgy dragon. In the other she's drawn a couple...what are probably ponies? One with no unicorn horn or wings, and another with wings but no horn.]

It's not great, but...since it takes concentration to keep the paper floating like this, it does its job.

... Oh, right. I forgot that drawing might be hard for you, with the hooves and all...

But hey, they're still really cute!

Yeaaah...my special talent didn't turn out to be drawing, it seems.

[They have character, it's fine.]

Some unicorns are really good at crafts, though. I've even seen earth and pegasus ponies draw while holding a pencil in their mouths.

Oh, that's pretty cool! I've never seen any horses do that before...

[pegathesis]

Believe me, I'm sure it would be a lot easier if we all had hands. A lot...weirder too, I imagine...

... Yeah, you're a lot cuter this way than having hands or paws.

[pegathesis]

Aw, you think so?

[She lifts one of her hooves to examine it. Maybe she should take care of her hooves more...but then she'd just fall into the trap of getting them trimmed and buffed and polished and god knows what else Rarity does with hers.]

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like. Though I guess I'm more used to using magic for everything at this point.

Of course I do! How could anyone not think that you're cute, you're a talking, flying unicorn with magic!

[pegathesis]

You have to remember, there are a lot of talking, flying ponies in Equestria with magic. Or, well...I guess not all of them can fly AND use magic, but you know what I mean.

[She grins.]

Be glad I'm not Rainbow Dash instead. You'd only be making her head bigger than it already is.

... There's a pony out there, named Rainbow Dash.

There is. And I think you and Rainbow would get along very well if you ever met.

And you know what else? Her mane and tail are literally rainbow colors.
