Exactly. I would actually go so far as to suggest that...Alfred might have been the one to do it. Of course we have no way of knowing for sure, now that he's not here to defend himself...but why would Martin be left in the woods and Alfred in the clinic? It doesn't make sense to me that someone would kill Martin and then drag Alfred away for some...strange torture session when it would be far less risk to just leave them both there.
